Development

Stride completed the development of a new Woolworths-anchored supermarket at Waimakariri Junction in Kaiapoi in December 2023 on behalf of Investore. This development was delivered within budget and on time as part of Stage 1 of the development at Waimakariri Junction. The building incorporates a number of sustainable initiatives, including solar panels, energy efficient heating and cooling units, 100% use of LED lighting, dedicated parking spaces for fuel-efficient and electric vehicles and low water use plumbing fittings installed. The development has achieved a 5 Green Star Design & As Built rating.

Stride delivered this award winning headquarters for Waste Management in 2019. The site combines an office and truck workshop facility. This development won a number of awards at the 2020 Property Council of New Zealand Awards, including the Green Building Award and Supreme Award.

The successful delivery of this project led to two further developments with Waste Management, one at Henderson and one in Hamilton, both of which were completed in late 2020.

Stride undertook a major redevelopment of 22 The Terrace, Wellington, in 2021. Sustainability initiatives were incorporated in the building upgrade, which was initially undertaken to seismically strengthen the building. This building achieved a 5 Green Star Design and As Built rating. Stride has now sold this building.

Stride recently delivered a new industrial development for the Industre Property Joint Venture, comprising four new industrial units. This development is targeting a five Green Star As Built rating. SIML is working closely with Industre to deliver a number of other industrial developments across the Auckland region, meeting the needs of the market as the demand for industrial property remains strong in Auckland.

Diversified, which is managed by Stride, owns the Queensgate Shopping Centre. Stride recently completed the rebuild of a carpark and cinema at the centre following the demolition of a building as a result of the Kaikoura earthquake. This new addition to the centre is seismically resilient and improves the overall amenity of the centre. The EVENT cinema has proven extremely popular, and is helping to drive additional visitation to the centre.

NorthWest Shopping Centre was developed by Stride and opened in October 2015, with the second stage of offices, retail and hospitality opening in late 2016. This development delivered approximately 35,300 sqm of gross lettable area and remains a popular destination for shoppers in the north west of Auckland.
